Should Plastic bags be used at super markets?

Last week in Te Ngahere we did a  persuasive piece of writing about should plastic bags be used in super markets. Our WALT for this activity was to use the correct structure for a persuasive. I think I did really well on trying to make my ideas original in my writing.

18/10/17
Walt: Make my ideas original, so the reader can connect with them.
Should Plastic bags be used at supermarkets?

Plastic bags should not be sold at supermarkets because they are destroying our environment and killing our sea creatures and if this goes on for a very long time it might even kill all of our sea creatures.

Should plastic bags be used in supermarkets? No! They should not give out plastic bags for you to put your groceries in, they should use reusable bags in supermarkets. Why? Because they are spreading worldwide, and they are very hard to get rid of.

Plastic bags in up into our sea and start that's for fear on them. Why? Because we just let plastic fly away into the ocean and the sea creatures think it is food and they eat it and die.
Even our bird life is bad because when they go and find food for their young ones they pick up rubbish and feed it to them they eat it and when the mother bird keeps doing it the poison from the rubbish digest in the stomach and then they die, and when you split the stomach open there are big pieces of rubbish in them the only rubbish that digest in the bird.

When you put the plastic bags in the rubbish bin the the rubbish track takes it away and then the rubbish gets piled up and all the rubbish just lays there and all the plastic under it and in the middle can never be bernt or never disappearing it’s just gonna stay there for ever and soak into the soil.

Thanks for reading my should plastic bags be used at supermarkets, and I hope you learnt lots.

Fidget Spinners

Last week Te Ngahere and Te Maunga made some Fidget spinner art. We were learning to use, all the space on A3 piece of paper, crayon and dye. We also did and fidget spinner story my goal was to use a correct structure for a persuasive piece.

Should fidget spinners be allowed to be used at school and in the classroom?

WALT: use a correct structure for a persuasive piece.

Hi my name is KIana and I am going to be talking to you about fidget Spinners. I think that you shouldn't have your fidget spinner in the class but you can have it at school.

Firstly, you shouldn’t have your fidget spinner in class because it will distract you from your learning because when you are trying to do your work and you have a fidget spinner in your hand you won’t be focusing on your: Writing, Maths, Reading or Blogging, you would be to caught up on trying to spin it or do tricks with it (NO!)

Secondly, having it in class is a (AH?) No and having it in school is ok why, because having it at school you can play with it at Lunch and Morning Tea then you can do tricks and all the things you do with fidget spinners.

Thirdly, using a fidget spinner in class is a no example if you were doing a reading test and you only have till lunch and you are spinning your fidget spinner you will not get an important test done, and if you don’t get it done it’s going to be a big (oh, o).

In conclusion fidget spinners should not be allowed in class it’s a really good distraction but a fun toy to keep you distracted, but should be allowed at school.

Recount Making Ice Cream!

On Friday Te Ngahere made nice ice cream, because we had 100% right in our Learning Plans. Then on Monday we had to write a recount about how we made the ice cream. We worked in pairs and I worked with Lesane.

Monday 19th June 2017

WALT: Semicolons, Adjectives, Adverbs and Metaphors.

Making ICE CREAM!

Last Week on Friday Te Ngahere made some cold vanilla ice cream.
Also we had to have buddies and my buddy was Lesane.

First you: put one cup of cream into the bag we had to get a little plastic bag and then you have to put two scoop falls of sugar into the plastic bag, then you put ½ a teaspoon of vanilla escents into the bag then you put the bag down.  Next you get a bigger plastic bag and put some ice into the bag then put 6 scoops of salt into the bag now you put the little bag into the big plastic bag. (Make sure you close the little bag up or you will have salty and ice cream.) Now you go outside and shake it all up until it gets hard, when that is done you take the little bag out of the big bag and tip the ice out of the bag and chuck it into the rubbish then go and put it  into the fridge now for a little bit.

Now we are cleaning up the classroom getting ready to eat Ice Cream (YUM!)
We all went outside and sat down, Brodi and Alexis came and gave us all of our Ice cream bags. Then we got given success to cut a little bit by the corner so we can eat it. When Lesane gave me the ice cream bag it was so cold and salty but YUM! When I was eating the ice cream it was soft ice.

At the end of eating my Ice cream we did a big clean up in the class and a little bit outside getting ready for assembly.

The End!

Mr Joe Juice

Mr Joe Juice On the dark and mysterious Hook’s Island, was Mr Joe in his creepy forest, in his lonely, lonely web, which laid at the bottom of the broken tree, where the rats and the animals remain. He has lived in that terrible caught up web for his whole life. It is always dark and no other spider dares to go there except for Joe. The closest spider was 500 islands away which was way more than 950,000 miles away. One day, the day had come and that day was that Mr Joe Juice was going on a mission to go and find himself a friend, a spider friend. He thought it would be easy, but then he rethought the part where he had to make it through a whole forest of bad, where the danger and dark was.... when he was on the way to look for a friend he got up to the creepy troll bridge. When he was walking over the bridge slowly and quietly, all you could hear was, “Crunch!” “Crunch!” “Yes,” he said, he was nearly to the end of the bridge so he ran all the way there . . . “Stop!” said the ugly troll when he was picking his nose. “No!” said Mr Joe. Then the troll ran after him. “You can’t catch me because I'm Mr Joe Juice,” he said, so he ran all the way to the end of the bridge . . . “Nooooo!” said the ugly troll, so Mr Joe was on his way to find a friend. “Rrrrrrrr!” his tummy grumbled, oh no I'm so hungry he mumbled. “Ooooooooo” “Look it’s some blue berries.” “Yum, yum,” so he ran up to them and started to eat them. “This is great,” said Joe. “Brrrrrr,” said his tummy. “This can’t be good,” said Joe, Pop! Pop! “Oh no there’s BIG! BIG! Bumps on me”. Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop. BOOM! It keeped going till he was a big bouncy ball. (I don’t think he knows what poison berries are, back to the story). “Oh No!” said Joe. So when he got as big as a bouncy ball he just started rolling around the place. He started singing, “ Just get back up again.” He rolled all the way to the edge of a cliff and fell all the way down into a really really BIG Spider web. “Do...ing” “Oh no!” said Joe, I’m stuck in this web this is bad this is really really bad. What am I going to do. Come on think, think before the the spider comes back. “Mmmmmmm.” “I wonder what’s for lunch?” said the spider. “Oh no!” the spider looked at his food. “Hey you're not a fly, what’s your name?” “Mr Joe Juice, like the juice you drink,” he shivered as he was saying. “That's a fancy name,” he said. “Do you know why that’s a fancy name?” “Because that's my name, Mr JoJo Juice.” “Oooooo we must be brothers,” “Oh my god, that’s so cool. I never thought I’d have a brother in my whole life!” “Yay!” “I know when we are babies we all got separated all over the world, so there’s more of us.” “Yup thousands, Cool! So what are you doing here little brother?” “I’m on a mission to find a friend.” “Because this is my first time out of the tree that I have lived in my whole life,” “The top of the tree where we can spot the good flies,” “Also where the sun reaches to use.” “It’s not my fault I woke up by myself at the bottom of a old dead tree in a dark dark forest where all of the scary creatures,” “Are in a place that is to be known as Hook’s Island.” “Ok ok” “I’m sorry that my little brother was so lonely but I’m here now.” “ So what do you want me to do for you aaaaa. . . I know” “Could you please help me find a friend,” begged Joe, Ok thank you let me get my things first ok just wait right ok. Ok I’m ready let’s go ah . . . “Hello? Hello?” “ Where did you go oh man I didn’t even get to say bye oh well,” “I wonder where he went.” (But guess what he walked off because he heard a voice and he started to follow it back to the story,) “Where am I,” To be continued . . .
I have been working on a presentation, it’s about our narrative story. Also it was my first time using screencastify on my presentation, I was also using descriptive writing, I was working on my speech marks and ellipses. I need to work on my speech marks, and I think I have achieved ellipses.
